I am a 40 year old female who has always been quite healthy. I found and started taking Activia a little more than a year ago, thinking it would just contribute to general health. Once I tasted it, I actually loved the taste (I really enjoyed the blueberry flavor the most) and ended up drinking more than just the one a day it suggests on the package. I ended up drinking 2-3 of them every day for a couple months. Slowly, I began to notice that I was getting a very sick feeling that was foreign to me after ingesting the Activia.
I slowed down on how much I was drinking back to the one a day it suggests, but that didn't help. I got sicker and sicker until I was so miserable that I stopped using the Activia all together. But, somehow, even without using it, this extreme nausea and pain in my stomach continued. I have ended up taking a ton of Mylanta and Tums trying to fight this terrible sick stomach. It feels like whatever is wrong is not so much related to what I am eating now, but more due to some sort of damage inside my body.
In all honesty, I haven't been thinking that it could be related to the Activia, but recently I was talking to the doctor and he asked when this nightmare started. I thought back, (I can actually remember the exact time I started feeling this aweful feeling in my stomach) and remembered that at the time, I initially thought it was related to the Activia which is why I stopped buying it. Since then I have considered many things and tried many things to help the problem all to no avail.
So anyway, after the conversation with the doc about thinking I may be crazy but it all started after I had been drinking this Activia, he suggested I try to find out if there were any adverse side effects from the Activia. After reading that I am not the only one who has felt this intense nausea and stomach pains after having the Activia, now I am really wondering if this could be the culprit.
Of course I'm not sure what exactly to do about this, and more importantly, I really am hoping to figure out not only what caused this problem I'm having, but to also find a solution. I would greatly appreciate any other comments or suggestions. I am desperately seeking help for this problem.
